My Funniest College Xperience

It was a nice friday morning, its 10 AM and I was just taking my last nap. Before starting to tell you all this funny xperience of mine, I just want you to know there were 2 contacts in Mobile, I saved them both by their names "Sunil" & "Sunil". Now out of this 2 contacts, one "Sunil" was my junior from which i keep getting some calls and messages in 10-15 days and other "Sunil" was our college dean from which i never received any call till that day. Now the funny story starts from here.

So I was just taking my last nap on that nice friday morning. Suddenly my mobile rang. I saw the name, it was Sunil Calling, first I thought of just cutting the call and get into some more sleep. but i don't know why I picked that call. So he said, "Me Sunil bol raha hoon". I said, "Pehchan gaya yaar, aur suna kya chal raha hai". He then paused for some 3 seconds, then says "We want you to design a website for the seminar being conducted at College". I thought for seconds, ab juniors ke liye site banao.(Many people asks me to develop websites for them, I have now become very choosy :) ). So the exact words I said were "Yaar Me busy hoon, apan baad me baat karte hain". Then he asks me in English "Are you in college today.". I though for second "Yaar isko kya hua, ekdum english kese bolne laga". So I said in my natural language "Bas yaar mood nahi hua". Now he gave a long pause for some 5 seconds and asked "Are you coming tommorrow". I said, "Yaar, saturday ko kon college aata hai".

Isn't that enough. A bit confused, he asked seriously, "do you know who am I". Now I got confused, I said to myself "Ye Junior to nahi lag raha". This time my voice came low, and I asked in soft voice. "Who are You, SIR". He said "I am Sunil, your Dean". Shocked, I instantly said, "Sir, Kal College me milte hain". And hang up the phone immediately.

Next day ... well I will write what happened next day some other day. If you really want to hear what happened the next day, leave some comments ...

The Art of Hacking.

Often I have seen many of my friends reading books about Art of Hacking and trying to learn How to Hack. As far as the Engineering student life is concerned, Hacking is one art which I think if a student possess could lead in getting him a celebrity status in the college. And if you are smart enough in breaking the college servers, you can easily be considered the legend among the college friends. ( I have seen myself its easy for an hacker to have a nice girlfriends :) ).

Obviously hacking into the College Servers is great beacuse you know, How much sessionals are given to you before the main exams even gets started (knowing the sessional marks before the final theory exams surely helps, because suddenly you start preparing more deliberately for theory as sessionals always doesn't sounds good) other than that, also Knowing the college internal data of How much loyal a particular faculty is towards college.(According to internal surveying done in some colleges) is truly exciting. A smart hacker, who works intelligently knows it all.

I am not a hacker, but being a Web Developer, I do know some tricks which could be useful in Hacking the Web or into the College Network. Let me share with you, some of my tricks, which I have learned and quite successfully implemented at various place.

The easiest and simplest trick is KeyLogging. And I am pretty sure that after learning this trick, anyone would think twice before accessing their E-Mail, Orkut or Facebook Accounts from their friends computer. And I am 100% sure that none of my friend would ever access their any Accounts from my computer.

Keylogging is a great type of spying trojan software which hides in background so no-one can see it but it records each and every key movement of the keyboard.

I was once watching the News and they had a special guest that day. The Great Hacker as many people consider him "Ankit Fadia". So as the program progresses, he asks the News Host to put his Username and Password to Login into his GMail Account. So, this sweet Host puts her Username and Password and logs into the GMail Account using Fadia's Laptop. Fadia then takes the charge of his laptop and tells the News Host that her Username is priya_delhi12 and her Password is "Sanjeev", the News hosts mouth remains open and so am I.

Days passed, and I thought many times of How he had done it. How he knew the password was "Sanjeev" when all I could see is ******* Until one day when I came to know about the Keylogging Trojans & Softwares. I searched the Google and bang "I got the great keylogging trojan". I tested the trojan at Home and it worked perfectly and then I said to myself "Lets try it outside Home". So I took this keylogging trojan and moved to install it secretly to my nearest cyber cafe. My Trojan Software was advanced, So I don't need to go again and again to the cafe to see the keylogging records, the trojan automatically sends me the whole day keylogging activity on my E-Mail. And I said to myself "The World could not be more better", How amazing it is that what is been typed on that particular computer since that day was E-Mailed to me. The Software worked perfectly for some 20 days after which I suppose some Anti Spyware software would have deleted it because I have stopped getting any further E-Mails.

But 20 days collected me enough data. So I refined the data and found some 150 Usernames and Passwords. However I never misused them. Since I respect every persons Online Identity and don't like to spoil anything :). But I did some internal assessment of the data and found out to my amazement that many people use common passwords like "123456" and also the word "password" is a very common password. GREAT ASSESSMENT.

Now I will say don't try this tricks at Cafes. Coz it may sometime get you in trouble. But if your Home had become a type of Public cafe where your friends come, open their Orkut Facebook accounts and surf for hours. Have the pleasure to install this type of Keylogging Softwares onto your system. And then have the pleasure to access their accoounts anytime anywhere. Isn't that so much easy to get your friends password.

There are 2 more tricks, that I have learned and successfully applied, I would be posting them later in my Blog posts. Till then Happy Keylogging.

February Xperience.

February Month was perfect for me, as after the Project Management from Australia, I worked this month on doing project management for setting of another Oil Plant in Mozambique. I earned 18K this month, half of that money only came yesterday and quite frankly I worked for only 2 Hours.

But that isn't everything. ShareSWF got its 1000 Registered User Today. One project, that I really care about after Neepan Tech. Neepan Tech because that is where my ShareSWF gets funded to run. I would soon be moving the Share SWF to the Amazon Cloud Servers, which takes care of everything if Visitors increase and Bandwidhth requirements doubles, It costs much. And This is where Neepan Tech comes helping me :).

My Plans are to sale ShareSWF till the end of my college life. And all it needs is the Userbase. Vark.com recently sold themselves to Google for $50 Million and all they had were was their 10 Lakh users. I have 1000, still long way to do. But I am pretty confident that could be done by 7th Semester End. All it requires is Digging and Stumbling and tricks of SMM. I read a book some days back on "How to Sell to Big Corporations", its tough to sell to big companies, but it could be done, if u had a great product. Lets see what the Future brings.

The Power of Passion.

I am sharing an small article, I read on DB some days back. And it nicely explains the power of passion, it explains what it meant on working on something that you like.

Before continue reading below, I would first like you to view this 5 Minutes Youtube Video, made by unknown filmmaker Fede Alvarez from Uruguay for mere 300 Dollars.

This video grossed 5 Million Views in less than 2 Months of publishing. He says it took him 1 Year to complete that video with those amazing special effects, sounds and everything. He worked passionately day and night and launched the Video on Youtube. The end result was unbelievable, as even can you believe, it brought him a $30 Million deal with Sam Raimi, the producer of Spiderman flick. Raimi said I have seen your 300 Dollars work, lets see What you do with 30 Million Dollars.

Isn't this Incredible !!!

He did what he loved. This is the power of passionate work. He worked on something that he liked and put his whole passion on the 5 Minutes low budget Movie. That bought him something he deserved. So, It would be wonderful, if you too do something that you really love. As you can't even believe that little passion of yours for anything can take you from nobody to somebody. :)

How I learned from My Xperience with ThinkArticle.com

I am going to share one of my personal Xperience with ThinkArticle.com. 1 year ago, I have been working day and night passionately on the project of ThinkArticle.com, A Website for Sharing Knowledge & Earn Money. Start was good and well. And I developed the project in 1 Month. The project was impressive and I tried most of the things, I can.( From development of website to sticking those ThinkArticle Advertising posters in MANIT, It was the most interesting thing, we did. :) ).

Initially ThinkArticle.com Website Ranking reached around 5 Lakhs. Now, there was one other site Bukisa.com, which launched that same time around of launching of ThinkArticle.com, and it was funnier that the Bukisa had the same title as ours. "Share Knowledge, Earn Money" and almost same ranking around 5 Lakhs. Although I lost race with them, Currently their ranked climbed to around 5000 (which roughly means income of 2-4 Lakh per month for them, which also meant that my idea was great. :) ) and ThinkArticle ranks around 1.5 Lakhs (with almost no income :) ). Well, I don't feel bad about it, because there is a lot of things I learned from that stuff. Especially how the Web Business grows. And I figured what we did wrong and why can't we create a Buzz over the Internet and lagged at ranks.

The key factors, I found that worked for Bukisa:

1. USER INTERFACE: Bukisa had a very neat User Interface and that time I was wondering how they designed it. Somedays back I happened to met a person Ritendra Srivastava from Yahoo at Neepan Tech and he explained me that they were using jQuery (Advance Javascript) & AJAX together. (Thanks for the tip). I almost learned the jQuery as its selectors were almost similar to CSS (which I already know). And also getting my hands dirty in AJAX. So very soon this factor would be eliminated.

2. TEAM: Bukisa had small team of 4 people. So they were spending 4 times than me. They put their one man for regular updation of content on the website. Another for Social Media Marketing on FaceBook, Twitter and Digg etc. (Earlier, I could not get the people interested in Web field. Although, now at Neepan Tech I get lot of people who have the same passion of Web Development) So this factor now had been sorted out.

There are several other issues (about 10) which I figured out, that made Bukisa.com reaching the website ranking of 5000 with such large revenues.

Well now I shifted my focus to Building and Growing ShareSWF.com more Passionately (It keeps me awake at Night :) ) . As I found the ShareSWF idea more attractive, interesting and never done before type.

Yesterday, I drawn the new layout on paper for ShareSWF and would now be working on that. :) I am pretty confident that ShareSWF can reach that same rankings and generate good revenues. [ If you feel interested and is passionate over working on Web, You can contact me on Mobile Number given on the Right Sidebar.]

Xperience with ShareSWF.com

"Build something that jumps Curve", a saying by Guy Kawasaki really inspired me to build up ShareSWF.com, A site for Uploading and Sharing Flash Animations from every diverse field. The site got a good startup review from KillerStartups.com, Pluggd.in and numerous Italian, French and Chinese Websites. I got a call from NITIE College, Mumbai (I haven't heard about the college, until my friends told me how prestigious it was) for presenting the Business Plan of ShareSWF.com, but they were not knowing, I was not eligible as I am just a student.

But The most amazing thing happened, since launch of ShareSWF.com on September 12, was the E-Mail, I accidently send to Venki(I thought he was some sort of editor at Rediff) but he came out to be the CEO of Rediff.com. And to my amazement, I got the Reply, and the Reply was equally fascinating.

The Reply was from the Vice President, Technology @ Rediff.com, and I am exactly pasting the Mail, as I got.

Hi! Neeraj,

This is Sumit from Rediff.com. Venki has forwarded the email to me to take the discussions forward. I have gone thru the ShareSWF experience. Good effort put it. I have a set of questions as well.
What is the best method to take it forward? Will a conf call work or face-2-face meeting?

R's, / S.

Eventhough they had not profiled the ShareSWF till now, but just the Reply got me the feeling that the product, I build is something that had jumped curve. Today some 2 Months later I got 500th registration at ShareSWF. Still lot has to be improved in ShareSWF. But frankly I started loving ShareSWF.com. Please Comment.
